Ford Supports First Responders and Community During Los Angeles County Wildfires

Recent wildfires in Los Angeles, CA, wreaked extensive and devastating havoc, leaving many residents without homes and numerous businesses in ruins. Despite the destruction, support from the auto industry—most notably from the classic American automaker Ford Motors—has come forward. Ford has detailed plans to assist affected community members and first responders as they work toward recovery and rebuilding.

How is Ford Helping?

Ford dealers spanning 13 states in the Western US and Ford Philanthropy have donated to the California Community Foundation's Wildlife Recovery Fund. They contributed $465,000 to ensure that local organizations in California receive the supplies and resources needed to support community members. The funds raised by Ford and its philanthropic branch also benefit the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation. In addition to supporting the larger LA community, Ford is helping displaced residents by offering discounted pricing on Ford vehicles and options for deferred payments. Ford also provides free electric chargers for customers buying an electric vehicle, and its employees may take paid time off to assist with wildfire recovery.

What Organizations Does Ford Support?

Through its donations, Ford is aiding several organizations in the LA area. The American Red Cross, Feeding America, World Central Kitchen, and Team Rubicon benefit from Ford's contributions. Collectively, these organizations continue to deliver support to LA wildfire victims as they work to rebuild. The Red Cross remains dedicated to providing shelter and essential supplies, while Team Rubicon is committed to supplying longer-term resources as victims await home reconstruction. Both Feeding America and the World Central Kitchen focus on providing meals and food to affected community members.

Special Electric Vehicle Support

For those in the FEMA disaster area, owners of Ford and Lincoln vehicles are eligible for special incentives from Ford. This includes reimbursement for all-electric vehicles charged at a charging station from January 7 - 31. Additionally, local Ford dealerships can offer free charging adapters to customers who have lost their homes or are using an electric vehicle for disaster relief. Ford is also providing free replacements for customers whose home charging stations were lost in the fires.
