Specs at a Glance

The 2025 Ford Escape continues to stand out in the small crossover segment with its stylish design, excellent comfort, and advanced technology. For many buyers, the decision comes down to the Escape Active or Escape Platinum trims. Let's see how they differ.

Performance

Under the hood, the Escape Active has a 1.5-liter EcoBoost three-cylinder engine that produces 180 horsepower. The auto stop-start system helps save fuel, and the eight-speed automatic transmission offers a smooth ride. Front-wheel drive is standard, but all-wheel drive is an available option.

For more performance, the Escape Platinum features a 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine with 250 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque, delivering quicker acceleration. The Platinum trim can also tow up to 3,500 pounds.

Appearance

The Escape Active has a sleek design, standard LED headlights, and 17-inch alloy wheels. Chrome exhaust tips enhance its sporty appearance. You can choose from six exterior colors: Rapid Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat, and Carbonized Gray Metallic.

The Escape Platinum steps up with larger 19-inch machine-face wheels, LED fog lights, and unique headlights that give it a distinctive look.

Features

The Escape Active offers great standard features, including the SYNC 4 infotainment system with an 8.0-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and Ford Co-Pilot360. Additional highlights include dual-zone climate control, Intelligent Access with Push-Button Start, and a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot.

For a more premium experience, the Escape Platinum has a larger 13.2-inch touchscreen, Connected Navigation, and a 360-degree camera. Inside, it offers ActiveX seating, heated front sport seats, a digital gauge cluster, wireless charging, and adaptive cruise control.
