Specs at a Glance
Featuring eight seats, the 2024 Ford Expedition XLT and Limited deliver a sophisticated family experience. The Limited presents an enlarged infotainment display and instrument cluster as the pricier option. Let's delve into a comparison of these two impressive trims.
Performance
The 2024 Expedition extracts 380 horsepower from its 3.5-liter engine block. Originating from the renowned EcoBoost platform, the standard V-6 engine generates 470 pound-feet of peak torque. Opting for the 2024 Expedition Limited allows you to choose a high-output powerplant, providing 440 hp and 510 lb-ft of torque. Both engines are paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. These full-size Ford SUVs boast exceptional mechanical features, including a 4x4 drive system with Traction Control and Hill Descent Control. Standard on both models is a non-limited-slip rear axle with a 3.31 ratio, with the option to upgrade to a 3.73 ratio for improved handling. A two-speed transfer case with Control Trac elevates performance further, enhancing traction on various terrains. These Ford vehicles are constructed on a fully boxed frame for exceptional durability.
Appearance
The 2024 Expedition XLT rides on 18-inch machine-faced aluminum wheels adorned with Magnetic pockets. Both the XLT and Limited offer 20-inch alloy wheels with Dark Carbonized Gray pockets. Both Ford SUVs feature 20-inch wheels with a six-spoke design. The XLT's 20-inch wheels can be equipped with Sparkle Silver styling. The Limited version offers 22-inch wheels with black paint and boasts leather seats in the front row, featuring power adjustments, heating, and ventilation. Optionally, the XLT's seats can be furnished with the luxurious synthetic ActiveX material.
Features
Built on the SYNC 4 platform, a standard 12-inch touchscreen graces both the 2024 Expedition XLT and Limited. Both three-row SUVs include an 8-inch productivity screen in the instrument cluster. FordPass Connect powers a robust Wi-Fi modem inside the cockpits of both vehicles. The Limited trim offers an optional 15.5-inch LCD touchscreen and a 12.4-inch instrument meter for added luxury. Both models feature a rear entertainment system with Amazon Fire TV streaming on a pair of headrest monitors.
